Ted Dunning is CTO of new internet
company DeepDyve in Menlo Park.
They'ree developing a new technology
for deep web search that is cool -- allows
MUCH longer queries to be used, such
as an entire paragraph of an article.
The company also has an engineering
team in China, so Ted was there in
October and will return in February. He
continues with Veoh Networks in San
Diego as consultant.
Ellen Friedman is splitting time between
San Diego and Los Gatos, the new
temporary living quarters in the Bay
Area. Ellen is keeping her contracts
doing project evaluation for two medical
education projects with UCSD School of
Medicine and local high schools AND
thinking up ideas for magic cartoons with
Jim Whiting for a monthly newsletter, so
she will be back in San Diego at least
one week each month -- hopefully the
week SCCS meets!!
